Iraq, Tunisia discuss starting direct flights

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Transport, Razak Al-Saadawi, and the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, emphasized on Saturday the need for opening a direct air link between Tunisia and Iraq.
The step aims to increase travel and the flow of people and products between the two countries, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Transport Ministry.
During their meeting in Baghdad, the two sides decided to expedite all required steps to run this route and guarantee its sustainability.
Al-Saadawi and Ammar talked about Iraq’s Development Road, a strategic initiative with significant economic implications for the region and the entire world, as well as ways to improve bilateral collaboration in many areas of the transport industry.
Ammar expressed interest in starting direct flights between Baghdad and Tunis, noting that entry visas will be provided to Iraqis as quickly as possible.
Ammar arrived in Baghdad on Saturday to participate in the meetings of the Joint Iraqi-Tunisian Committee.
