Iraqi FM confirms Iraq’s keenness to end Russian-Ukrainian war
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, confirmed Iraq’s keenness to end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, according to a press statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
Hussein statement took place during his meeting with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), the statement elaborated.
The statement mentioned that Hussein confirmed that Iraq is keen to reach a cease fire between Russia and Ukraine, end the war, resort to negotiation, and resolve the dispute with Russia through peaceful means.
Hussein pointed out that Iraq is always against wars, because it previously suffered from the repercussions of wars, the statement clarified.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed that his country is keen to end this war, referring to the results of the recent meetings and the international efforts within this framework, the statement explained.
The two sides also reviewed prospects for bilateral relations and the promotion of joint cooperation in various fields, the statement added.
