Iraqi FM discusses cooperation with the Netherlands
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, stressed on Tuesday the importance of activating the joint cooperation with the Netherlands, noting that Iraq is keen to achieve stability and balance in the region, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
Hussein’s statements took place during his meeting with the Vice Minister and Director General for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Marcel de Vink, in Baghdad.
Hussein thanked the Netherlands for training Iraqi diplomats and supporting Iraq in the different fields, noting that it is important to activate and enhance the cooperation in areas of agriculture, tourism, climate change, education and water management, the statement illustrated.
Hussein confirmed that the Iraqi President, accompanied by a high-level delegation, will attend the water summit sponsored by the Netherlands due to its importance for Iraq, the statement elaborated.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister indicated that Iraq is keen to achieve stability and balance in the region, and to establish strong relations with all countries to serve common interests, the statement mentioned.
De Vink stressed that the bilateral relations with Iraq are deep, and emphasized that the Netherlands is keen to enhance cooperation with Iraq.
De Vink also noted the importance of strengthening the bilateral cooperation in various fields in accordance with plans agreed upon.
De Vink also commended Iraq’s role in the convergence of views between different parties in countries of the region, and in achieving security and political stability, welcoming Iraq’s recent diplomatic initiatives and its pioneering role in the region.
