 Iraqi FM stresses the need to promote cooperation with the EU

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, stressed the importance of promoting cooperation with the European Union in various fields, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry mentioned in a statement that Hussein received the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Ville Varjola, as his duties as an ambassador in Baghdad came to an end.

The statement illustrated that Hussein commended the qualitative progress in relations with the European Union.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister emphasized the need to strengthen relations to serve common interests, open prospects for cooperation in various fields, and benefit from European experiences, wishing Varjola success in his upcoming diplomatic missions.

Varjola confirmed the European Union’s continued support for Iraq, especially in the field of reconstruction, expressing appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to make the work of the European mission in Baghdad successful.
