 Iraqi FM, US Ambassador discuss bilateral ties

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, discussed on Monday the bilateral ties between Iraq and the United States with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, according to a statement cited by the state news agency (INA).

The statement elaborated that the meeting addressed ways to promote bilateral ties between Iraq and the United States, regional issues, the Al-Hol refugee camp in Syria, and the return of Iraqis from the camp.

The US Ambassador talked about the results of the visit of the Iraqi military delegation, headed by the Iraqi Minister of Defense, to Washington, indicating that the results of the discussions that took place with American military officials about the future of relations between the two countries are positive.

Romanowski confirmed that the United States will continue to support the Iraqi armed forces in the fight against ISIS terrorists.

The US Ambassador discussed on Sunday the results of the joint security cooperation dialogue between Iraq and the United States with the Speaker of the Parliament of Iraq, Mohammed Al-Halbousi.
