Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi sensation Ali Al-Hamadi is making headlines with his stellar performances, consistently reaching new heights with AFC Wimbledon.

In a recent triumph over Ramsgate in the Emirates FA Cup second-round, Al-Hamadi showcased his talent by scoring two goals, raising his season tally to eleven for AFC Wimbledon.

Exhibiting remarkable skills from the tender age of 13, Al-Hamadi garnered attention from various club teams as he progressed in his career. His journey culminated in a significant move to AFC Wimbledon on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2023. He made a memorable debut for Wimbledon in February 2023, contributing a crucial goal in a 2–2 draw against Hartlepool United. His exceptional performance in March 2023 earned him the prestigious EFL Young Player of the Month award.

Although Al-Hamadi was born in Iraq in 2002, his family, like many others, sought refuge from Saddam Hussein’s regime, eventually settling in Liverpool in 2003 during the early stages of the Iraq War. His formative years were spent in the United Kingdom.

At 21 years old, Al-Hamadi, considered one of the most promising talents in his league, had the opportunity to represent either England or Iraq at the international level. Al-Hamadi chose to join the Iraq U23 team in 2019, reaffirming his allegiance to his motherland.
