Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, highlighted the importance of the role of the international community in stopping the Israeli aggression against Gaza, warning that the Hamas-Israel conflict could grow.

Al-Sudani’s remarks took place during a phone call with the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, James Cleverly, where they discussed the bilateral ties between the two countries, the latest developments in the region, and the Palestinian issue in particular, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The Iraqi Prime Minister called on the international community and the permanent members of the UN Security Council to take measures to stop the violence and aggression of Israel against the Palestinian people and prevent the conflict from reaching other areas in the region.

Cleverly valued the Iraqi government’s position on the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The two sides also agreed on the necessity of securing a ceasefire and accelerating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people besieged in Gaza, as well as the importance of applying international law to reach a lasting and just solution.
