 Iraqi PM calls on Turkish firms to invest in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, called on Turkish companies to invest in the Iraqi market.

Al-Sudani’s remarks took place during his meeting with a delegation from the Turkish company Tiryaki Agro, in the presence of the CEO of the Iraq Development Fund, Muhammad Al-Najjar, and the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Gunay, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The Iraqi Prime Minister congratulated the Turkish company and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for reaching an agreement to establish an industrial complex that is the first of its kind in Iraq to process agricultural crops in the port of Umm Qasr.

The Turkish delegation also expressed willingness to participate in establishing other projects in the agricultural field to utilize modern irrigation technologies and clean energy.

Al-Sudani emphasized the Iraqi government’s support for these projects, indicating their importance in strengthening food security and providing job opportunities.

The Iraqi Prime Minister explained that the development of economic relations between Iraq and Turkey will enhance the security and stability of the region.
