Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, confirmed on Wednesday Iraq’s unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue during a phone call with his Canadian counterpart, Justin Trudeau.

The two sides talked about the bilateral relations between the two countries, the developments of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, and the worsening humanitarian situation in the strip, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Al-Sudani expressed Iraq’s stance supporting the Palestinian people’s right to establish their own state.

The Iraqi Prime Minister condemned the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, targeting civilians, shedding the blood of women and children, tightening the siege on the Gaza Strip, and depriving the Gazans of their basic rights, such as food and medicine.

Al-Sudani called on influential countries to protect international law that the Israeli authorities violated.

Trudeau emphasized Canada’s eagerness to reach a truce in Gaza, through which humanitarian aid can be delivered to civilians.

The Canadian Prime Minister also expressed Canada’s willingness to collaborate with Iraq to reach a quick solution to the crisis in Gaza.
