 Iraqi PM discusses strengthening partnership with the U.S.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between Iraq and the United States on Sunday with the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s press office.

The statement mentioned that the meeting addressed the continuation of the war against terrorism and remnants of ISIS terrorist group, as well as the bilateral cooperation in terms of providing advice and training from the American side to the Iraqi armed forces.

The statement indicated that the U.S. ambassador expressed her country’s aspiration for more coordination between Washington and Baghdad.

Later, Romanowski mentioned via Twitter that she had discussed with the Iraqi Prime Minister the cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil regarding anti-corruption efforts, public services, humanitarian and security issues.

Romanowski stressed that the expanded cooperation with Baghdad will help achieve tangible results for the Iraqi people.
