Iraqi PM, Dutch Defense Minister discuss security cooperation
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and the Dutch Minister of Defense, Kajsa Ollongren, discussed on Monday the bilateral relations and security cooperation, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s press office.
The statement mentioned that Al-Sudani met Ollongren and her accompanying delegation in Baghdad where they discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and the Netherlands, and the security cooperation within the framework of the Netherlands’ participation in the international coalition to combat terrorism.
The two officials talked about ways to enhance joint coordination with the Netherlands, the rest of the NATO countries and the European Union, within the field of providing advice and training to the Iraqi security forces, and raising their capabilities to pursue the remnants of terrorist belonging to ISIS group, the statement elaborated.
Both sides also discussed the most important possible means to have Iraq benefited from the Dutch experience in the field of water and to face the challenges of climate change and drought, and its economic and environmental effects, the statement added.
