Iraqi PM, KDP leader discuss security, political developments
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, discussed on Thursday the latest security and political developments in the region.
The two sides talked about national issues, the implementation of the government program, and the latest developments in the region.
The meeting also addressed the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
As the war in Gaza reached its 34th day, Israel continued to bombard the enclave, and Hamas militants continued to target the Israeli forces penetrating the Strip.
The number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli bombardment of Gaza has exceeded 10,500 since the beginning of the escalation on October 7.
Health officials in the Gaza Strip said that the deaths include 4,250 children, 2,720 women, and 635 elderly people.
The Palestinians in Gaza are suffering from an imminent humanitarian catastrophe due to the Israeli army’s refusal to bring in sufficient aid to rescue the people, who have been facing intense bombing since October 7.
On October 27, Israel announced that it had begun the second phase of a long and difficult war with Hamas, which includes a ground invasion into Gaza along with intense air strikes.
