Iraqi PM, Kurdistan President discuss common issues
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, discussed on Saturday common issues between Baghdad and Erbil with the President of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani.
Al-Sudani met with Barzani and his accompanying delegation in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, where they reviewed important issues and measures taken by the government in the sectors of service and development, in accordance with the government’s agenda, to improve services provided to citizens throughout the country, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The two sides emphasized the significance of maintaining positive discussions on common issues between the federal government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
In terms of political affairs, Al-Sudani and Barzani emphasized the significance of bolstering the government’s internal and external endeavors and fostering a closer link between Baghdad and Erbil, which calls for the concerted efforts of all political forces along this trajectory.
The Iraqi Prime Minister viewed the President of Iraqi Kurdistan’s visit as a start in the right direction toward resolving all outstanding issues.
Barzani conveyed gratitude for Al-Sudani’s endeavors and persistence in fostering dialogue and contact with different national forces, with the aim of enhancing political stability.
