Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, discussed on Monday the latest developments in Palestine in a phone call with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The two sides talked about the impact of the recent incidents in Palestine and emphasized the need to stop the escalation and the bombing in Gaza, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Al-Sudani and Al Thani highlighted the importance of exerting more efforts to force the Israeli occupying forces to respect international laws and conventions, stop their aggressive policies against the Palestinian people, and cease their continued violations of sacred sites.

Both sides also called for urgent international action to guarantee the right of the Palestinian people to live in their country.

The discussions between both leaders follow a meeting held in Baghdad between Al-Sudani and the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, where they addressed the recent developments in Palestine and their impact on the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian group Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel on Saturday, where Hamas fighters took several Israeli civilians and soldiers hostage.
