Iraqi Prime Minister meets with TotalEnergies CEO
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, recently met with TotalEnergies CEO, Patrick Pouyanné, in Baghdad. The two talked on how to make the most of Iraq’s abundant oil, gas, and natural resources as well as the integrated gas development project.
Al-Sudani stated that his government aims to lessen gas flaring, develop environmentally friendly projects, and generate employment opportunities.
The meeting included topics such as gas investments in a seawater desalination project, the Artawi oil field near Basra, and a 600 MMSCF flared gas facility.
By growing its investments in alternative and renewable energy sources nationwide, Iraq has also been looking for methods to diversify its energy supplies. Al-Sudani examined a possible 1,000-megawatt solar energy project as a result during the meeting.
