Iraqi security arrests most dangerous drug trafficking gang in Karbala

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency (FIIA) of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of one of the most dangerous drug trafficking gangs in Karbala governorate, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) southwest of Baghdad.
The drug trafficking gang consisting of five suspects, including two women, was arrested in a security operation carried out by a specialized team of FIIA elements.
The security team raided the residence of the suspects where an exchange of fire took place, leading to the death of one of the suspects.
One of the suspects who were arrested is nicknamed ‘Khokha’ and he is wanted according to several judicial rulings for drug trafficking. There is more than one confession against him by suspects who were arrested in previous operations.
Firearms used by the suspects during the confrontation with the security forces, narcotic pills and other drugs were seized by the Iraqi security.
The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspects.
