Iraqi universities to start accepting students from abroad
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, confirmed on Tuesday that Iraqi universities will witness an important modernization related to the educational systems, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
Al-Aboudi indicated that Iraqi academic institutions are keen on scientific and research cooperation with Arab countries.
Al-Aboudi’s statement took place during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC), Abdelmajid Benamara, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.
Al-Aboudi indicated that Iraq is keen to cooperate with Arab countries through the FASRC to achieve positive integration between Arab universities and research centers, INA mentioned.
The Iraqi Minister stressed the importance of developing scientific partnerships that serve sustainable development and its goals, INA added.
Al-Aboudi illustrated that the ministry will adopt an initiative called ‘Study in Iraq’ to accept foreign students in Iraqi universities, especially after their advancement in international rankings competitions.
Benamara commended the ‘Study in Iraq’ initiative and mentioned that FASRC is keen to exchange experiences that support the development of cooperation in various specializations.
