Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s General Commission for Taxes issued a statistical report on Saturday revealing that both revenues and income tax it collected surpassed $448.3 million in four months.

The data issued by Iraq’s tax authority indicated that the revenues it earned through its departments at border crossings were nearly $355 million.

The General Commission for Taxes explained that its revenues during March were around $45.8 million, nearly $75.3 million during April, approximately $100 million in May, and around $124.5 million in June.

The Iraqi tax authority noted that the income tax it collected was $93.6 million during the four months from March until June.

The Iraqi authority clarified that it collected nearly $24 million during March, around $20.4 million in April, approximately $24.8 million in May, and nearly $24.4 million in June, INA reported.

The increase in revenues compared to 2022 followed administrative changes conducted by the head of the General Authority for Taxes, Ali Waad Allawi, since he assumed his position last March, INA added.
