Italian PM Giorgia Meloni visits Iraq
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received earlier today the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her delegation in Baghdad, Iraq.
The two prime ministers will speak about their respective nations’ bilateral ties and strategies to expand their mutually beneficial collaboration.
Prime Minister Meloni will also visit Italian troops as there are up to 650 Italian soldiers deployed in Iraq and Kuwait as part of the NATO alliance, according to Al-Arabiya.
Italy contributes personnel for international commands in Baghdad, Erbil, and Kuwait City as well as training for the military forces and police.
The newly appointed Prime Minister of Italy is also scheduled to visit Erbil later today.
