Real Madrid FC selects Iraqi teen to train in Spain

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi teenager, Mohamed Al-Ghazali, from Dearborn, Michigan, was chosen by Real Madrid FC to participate in training in Madrid, Spain.

Al-Ghazali’s parents applied to the club as a birthday present before the application was accepted.

Al-Ghazali’s skills and dedication caught the attention of his coaches on the second day of the five-day training that ended on July 28.

The club coaches informed Al-Ghazali’s parents that they had selected their son for the final spot to join Real Madrid in Spain.

Real Madrid holds the record for winning the European Cup/UEFA Champions League fourteen times and 32 times for the most semi-final appearances.

In June 2009, the club broke its own record for the highest transfer fee ever paid in the history of football after purchasing Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo for 94 million euros (approximately $103.3 million).

Real Madrid was founded in 1902 as Madrid Football Club, and it competes in La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football.
