Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – SalamAir, the first low-cost airline in Oman, had a spectacular inauguration ceremony for its new headquarters in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The Ambassador of Oman to Iraq, Hamed Ahmed Eidroos, emphasized the historic moment of SalamAir’s presence in Iraq.

Together with notable visitors from different authorities, airports, and prestigious commercial partners from Baghdad and throughout Iraq, the event also welcomed the ambassadors of Kuwait and Yemen to Iraq.

As an important step forward, this new office is the first Omani airline in Iraq.

Direct flights between Oman and Iraq were successfully resumed on August 31, 2023, by SalamAir, following a 20-year break.

This important link has allowed for improved connectivity and collaboration between the two countries.

The opening of the Baghdad office is indicative of SalamAir’s commitment to growing its network and providing customers with more reasonably priced travel alternatives.

From Baghdad to Muscat, SalamAir operates four weekly flights that go to a variety of fantastic locations, such as Salalah, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Dhaka, Jaipur, Lucknow, Multan, and Dammam.

The price of the air fare on SalamAir’s Muscat-Baghdad flights starts at 97 Omani Riyals (approximately $252).

SalamAir launched in mid-2023 three new destinations, which are Almaty in Kazakhstan, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and the Turkish city of Rize, according to Times Aerospace.

This initiative aims to enhance the movement of tourists through Muscat and Salalah international airports.
