SalamAir launches Muscat-Baghdad direct flights
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday the launch of direct flights between Baghdad and Muscat.
The spokesperson of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the Iraqi embassy in Oman congratulates SalamAir for launching direct flights between Baghdad and Muscat.
Al-Sahaf explained that the launch of direct flights between the two countries is an important step in developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Oman.
The Iraqi official elaborated that the new air route will open new horizons for cooperation in different fields and reflect mutual trust and the desire to develop the strategic partnership between Iraq and Oman.
Al-Sahaf clarified that these direct flights will also facilitate the movement of visitors between the two countries.
The Omani airline plans to operate this route three times weekly with Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The price of the air fare on SalamAir’s Muscat-Baghdad flights will start at 97 Omani Riyals (approximately $252).
In June and July, SalamAir launched three new destinations, which are Almaty in Kazakhstan, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and the Turkish city of Rize, according to Times Aerospace.
This initiative aims to enhance the movement of tourists through Muscat and Salalah international airports.
As part of a partnership between Iraq’s national carrier and Boeing, Iraqi Airways is extending its network of destinations by introducing new modern airplanes. Oman, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China are among the new destinations.
