Saudi Ambassador’s visit to Karbala strengthens Iraq-Saudi relations
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – In a historic gesture marking a significant shift in diplomatic relations, the Saudi Ambassador to Iraq, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, embarked on a momentous visit to the Governorate of Karbala.
This visit holds particular significance as it is the first of its kind since the inception of bilateral ties between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
Ambassador Al-Shammari’s presence at revered sites such as the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn and the Holy Shrine of Abu Fadhl Al-Abbas underscores a newfound spirit of cooperation and mutual respect between the two nations.
Over the past several years, the relationship between Iraq and Saudi Arabia has witnessed a remarkable transformation, evolving into a robust alliance bolstered by tangible initiatives. Increased air flight destinations, the opening of economic borders, exemplified by the Arar Border in western Iraq, and significant Saudi investments in Iraq have fortified the bond between these two regional Middle East countries.
