Saudi cabinet praises distinct bilateral relations with Iraq
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Saudi Council of Ministers, during its session chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, praised the distinguished bilateral relations with the Republic of Iraq, according to Saudi media.
The Saudi Council of Ministers reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for the efforts made by the Iraqi government aiming to achieve sustainability in the growth and prosperity in Iraq.
The session of the Saudi Council of Ministers reviewed talks and meetings that took place between officials from Saudi Arabia and other countries in the past days.
The announcement follows meetings held by the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, with the Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, the Parliament Speaker, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, during his visit to Iraq last week.
The Iraqi Presidency issued a statement last week in which it mentioned that Rashid, during his meeting with Farhan, indicated that Iraq and Saudi Arabia are two important countries for the stability of the region, especially in light of the critical circumstances the countries of the world are going through.
Farhan expressed Saudi Arabia’s support for Iraq’s efforts to enhance its security and stability, and emphasized the need to strengthen the bilateral relations and to expand cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries.
Farhan confirmed the importance of boosting cooperation between the two countries to achieve economic integration, especially since Iraq has a diversified and sustainable economy.
Farhan also expressed Saudi Arabia’s willingness to cooperate and invest in the associated gas.
