Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, announced on Sunday that the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, will visit Baghdad soon to hold talks on resuming rounds of dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

“Baghdad adheres to the policy of dialogue and balance to defuse tensions that affect the Iraqi arena,” Hussein said in an interview with Al-Hadath TV channel.

The spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, mentioned in his weekly press conference that Iran welcomes the process of strengthening the relations with neighboring countries.

Kanaani added that Iran will certainly welcome any positive initiative and improvement of relations, according to Fars News Agency.

Last Tuesday, the Saudi Foreign Minister said that Saudi Arabia communicated with Iran, pointing out that Riyadh is trying to find a path for dialogue with everyone.

During his speech in the World Economic Forum held in the Swiss city of Davos, Farhan explained that dialogue is the best way to settle differences in the region.

“We are trying to find a path for dialogue with everyone and focus on development,” Farhan added.

The last round of dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Iran took place in April 2022, and the dialogue stopped without reaching an agreement, despite the statements of the leaders of both countries about the desire to establish a bilateral relationship based on respect for the other.
