Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal visits Baghdad
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, discussed on Monday the bilateral ties between Iraq and Saudi Arabia with the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
A statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office mentioned that Al-Sudani received Prince Faisal and his accompanying delegation in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, where they talked about issues of common interest and the latest regional and international developments.
The meeting also addressed the recent developments in Palestine and their impact on the Palestinian people.
Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s stance regarding the security of neighboring countries and the government’s commitment to the principles of good neighborliness and the related international resolutions.
The Iraqi Prime Minister also confirmed that Iraq does not allow its territories to be used to attack any party.
A day earlier, Al-Sudani discussed the latest developments in Palestine in a phone call with the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The two sides stressed the importance of maintaining a unified stance towards the Palestinian people and defending their sacred sites, security and legitimate rights, which were violated by the Israeli occupation forces.
The Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a surprise and unprecedented attack on Israel on Saturday.
Hamas fighters took several Israeli civilians and soldiers hostage.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said that more than 200 Israelis have been killed in the attack, whereas the Palestinian Health Ministry mentioned that at least 256 people in Gaza were killed in the Israeli strikes that followed the attack launched by Hamas.
