FIFA requests Football Union to accelerate the friendly match to lift the ban
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Football Union announced on Thursday that it has received a formal letter from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) requesting the acceleration of organizing the friendly match to lift the ban.
The member of the Union Kamil Zughayyar said in an interview to IraqiNews.com, “The Union has received an official letter from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) requesting the establishment of a friendly game that has been agreed upon to be an experience before lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums.”
“The Union will seek to complete readiness to organize the game; It will depends on the ready stadiums”, noting that “The candidates to contest this match in front of the national team are Iran, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Kuwait,” Zughayyar added.
