Friendly match for Iraqi football team U-23 cancelled
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Football Association decided to cancel the friendly match which was scheduled for the Iraqi team U-23 versus the Malaysian counterpart tomorrow, Sunday, March 15 because an agreement was not reached by both sides.
Head of the Iraqi football delegation, Yahya Zighayer, told IraqiNews.com “An agreement was not reached over holding this match on Sunday which made the IFA cancels this match and satisfies with the two friendly matches agreed upon versus KSA and UAE teams on March 18th and 20th.”
He added “The Swiss Grossbahar Club rejected to allow the Iraqi player Shirko Karim join the Iraqi team during its training camp,” noting that “IFA will address the club again to ensure the participation of the Iraqi player during the qualifications of the Asian Cup to start in Oman on March 25th.”
It is worth to mention that the Iraqi team won its first match during the camp versus the Jordanian counterpart (2-1) scored by the Iraqi player Ayman Hussein. /End/
