SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s soccer team lost 0/1 to Syria in a friendly game played on al-Sulaimaniya pitch as part of the two teams’ preparations for the Asia Cup 2011 finals, to be hosted in Qatar next month. The Syrians scored their narrowest of leads during the last minutes of the second half by Thamir Zhayyab. The game has witnessed a massive presence of spectators, about 14,000. The Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya lies 364 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 389
