Iraq participates in chess tournament in UAE

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Chess Federation on Tuesday decided to participate in the Arab chess tournament to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in mid-December, a federation official said. “The federation agreed in principle to play in the tournament to be held on December 15-25,” the federation’s secretary-general, Abdelhadi Maftul, told IraqiNews.com. “The committee organizing the competitions allowed Iraq to be represented by one man and four women but the federation will send only one man and two women, to be named later,” he said.
