Iraqi equestrian ranks top in Jordan tournament
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi equestrian snatched the top ranking at the end of stage 1 of the 1st Jordan international equestrian events on Saturday night in the Amman, where 30 Arab athletes took part, the Iraqi equestrian sports federation said on Sunday. “Iraq’s Mustafa Jaafar al-Husseini came on top while the second place went to Jordan’s Hani Bisharat and the third to Iraqi equestrian Riad Ayed,” Haider Hussein al-Jemeili told IraqiNews.com. “The Jordan tournament will continue for three weeks over three stages. The athlete who collects the largest number of points would be crowned as champion of this competition which brings together elite men and women athletes from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria,” he said. Husseini was on his horse Windora 3, Jordan’s Bisharat on Troublemaker and Iraq’s Ayed was on Samantha, he added. AmR (P) 1
