Iraqi football team U-23 heads towards Muscat to join Olympic qualifications
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi football team U-23 departed towards the Omani capital, Muscat, to join the Qualifications of the Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games which will start in Oman next Tuesday.
Head of the Iraqi delegation Yahya Zighayer stated to IraqiNews.com “Delegation of Iraqi Team departed on Saturday morning from the UAE to the Omani Capital, Muscat, to participate in qualifications of Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games which will start next Tuesday.”
He added “The Iraqi coach Yahya Alwan decided to send two players, Ali Rahim and Saif Jibair, back home to Iraq since the regulations of the Asian Federation stipulate that only 23 players can join the qualifications.”
“The friendly matches for the Iraqi team gave a clear image that the Iraqi team can compete to win the only ticket for this group,” he said. /End/
