Iraq’s soccer team training in Jordan for Oman game

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s soccer team had a training session in the Jordanian capital Amman on Saturday within preparations for the second friendly match against Oman, a source in the Iraqi delegation said. “The team trained for more than an hour on an artificial pitch in Amman within preparations for the second friendly game against the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday to get well-prepared for the 6th western Asia tournament, to be hosted in Jordan on September 24 and runs until October 3,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Iraq will be playing Yemen on September 25 and Palestine on September 29 within Group C encounters,” he added. Iraq had tasted a crushing 1/4 defeat by Jordan on Thursday (Sept. 16), the biggest in the history of the two teams’ games since the year 1964. AmR (P) 1
