(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – Former coach of the Iraqi national football team, Adnan Hamad, on Thursday announced that after an order passed by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Minister of Youth and Sports, he was deprived from practicing in Iraq.

Hamad, in a statement issued to the media, said, “After Iraq lost against Qatar with one goal in the Asian qualifiers for the 2010 Football World Cup in South Africa, Minister of Youth and Sports Jassim Mohammed Jaafar issued a decision to deprived me from training in Iraq and this order was passed by former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. ”

Speaking in favor of Younis Mahmoud, Qusay Munir and other players, Hamad said that allegations of treason labelled against them are wrong.

“These players have served the Iraqi football for many years and that too in difficult times. They have achieved a lot and this is not the way to treat them,” Hamad added.
