Zico announces formation of Iraqi National Team against Lebanese Counterpart

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Coach of the Iraqi National Team, Zico, announced the formation of the Iraqi National Team that will play against its Lebanese Counterpart on Sunday.

The Administrative Manager of the team, Riyadh Abdul Abbas, stated to IraqiNews.com “Zico appointed the Defender, Salam Shakir, as the captain of the team.”

“The formation involves Noor Sabri as the goalkeeper, Salam Shakir, Ahmed Ibraheem, Mahdi Kareem, and Hussam Kadhum in the defense line while Ibraheem Kamil, Fareed Majeed, Ala Abdul Zahra as well as Karar Jasim will play as mid-fielders in addition to Mustafa Kareem and Ali Salah as the forwards,” he added.

“The player, Muthana Khalid, underwent a simple stress so Zico preferred to exclude him from the formation to relieve him as recommended by the physician of the team, Qasim Mohamed,” he concluded.
