26 schools in Baghdad rickety – official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A local education official warned Friday that 26 schools in eastern Baghdad‘s Sadr City are dilapidated due to their old condition and non-rejuvenation for long time. “Twenty-six primary, intermediate and secondary schools in Sadr city are dilapidated. The education ministry and the Baghdad Provincial Council have to take the necessary measures to restore those buildings,” Hussein Ali Nasser al-Abboudi, the director of the Baghdad Education Department, told IraqiNews.com news agency. He added that there is a necessity for the interference of Baghdad Provincial Council to review relevant projects after canceling deals with contractors who failed to rejuvenate those schools.
