3 organizations to protest to sack Baghdad council chairman

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Three media organizations agreed on Monday to stage a peaceful demonstration next week to sack the Chairman of the Baghdad Council, Kamel al-Zaidi. Iraqi press syndicate, the Iraqi Journalists’ rights Defense Association and the February 15 media gathering will stage a protest to sack the chairman of the Baghdad council as he violated promises made to the media commission. Al-Zaidi refused to meet members of the supervising media commission, which prepared reports on the services in the province. The three organizations agreed to stage the protest next week in front of the council’s building in al-Salehiya region, central Baghdad, after getting official permissions. SH (TP) 420
