3rd Conference on Mass Graveyards concludes in Arbil.
ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The 3 rd International Conference has concluded its works in Arbil, the capital of northern Iraq ’s Kurdistan Region, issuing several recommendations, among them the formation of a joint committee between Kurdistan ’s Ministry of Martyrs, Iraqi Human Rights Ministry and other ministries to implement the demands and rights of the victims. The final session of the conference was attended by Kurdistan Health Minister, Taher Howramany, Martyrs Minister, Kawa Mahmoud and representatives of different parties, who shared in the conference. Among the conference’s recommendations was the formation of a commission or joint board, comprising the Ministries of Martrys, Iraqi Human Rights, Kurdistan Health Ministry, along with the Environment, Endowment, Higher Education and Education, to follow up and implement the recommendations. In his conclusion speech, Kurdistan ’s Acting Minister of Martyrs, Dr. Kawa Mahmoud, had reaffirmed his government’s commitment to implement all its obligations, cited by the conference, calling on the Iraqi government to implement its commitments to build DNA laboratories, appoint special cadres and materials for those labs. The 3 rd Conference of Mass Graveyards in Iraq was held under patronage of Kurdistan Premier, Barham Ahmed Saleh, through coordination with the Kurdistan Ministry of Martyrs, Health Ministry and Martyrs Institution in Baghdad, during which it listened for 20 reports by researchers from Iraq and abroad.
