40% of Missan’s residents are anemic

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Forty percent of the residents of Missan province are suffering from anemia, according to statistics released by the Food Research Institute. “The number of anemic patients in Missan has increased in the past years to exceed 40 percent of its population, estimated at 1.01 million,” according to a recent statistic received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Anemia was most prevalent among pregnant women and children, according to the institute. Amara, the capital city of Missan, lies 390 km south of Baghdad. SS (P) 2
