About 210 patches of land distributed on Basra’s media men
BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq’s Basra Province has witnessed on Saturday the distribution of 209 patches of land on the Province’s journalists and photographers, free of charge, in a celebration, attended by its Governor, Khalaf Abdul-Samad and the Chairman of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad al-Lamy. Basra Governor, in a speech he delivered at the opening of the celebration that took place on the said occasion, said: “the distribution of lands on the press family in Basra , represents a recognition of their important and vital role in building a new Iraq , based on democratic basis.” “The media has played a great role in all phases that passed on Iraq , through expressing facts, in order to build the new Iraq , stemmed from the good efforts of the media that supported security and stability, and calling for the support of the development and reconstruction in the country.” The Chairman of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad al-Lamy, in his speech, has demanded the journalists to “cooperate with the local administration in Basra Province , to support the march for security and stability, and to uncover the corruption, as well as commitment to the necessary vocational principles.” SKH (ST) 458
