Appreciation to Christian stand on a religious mourning ceremonies
KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: White Iraqiya bloc MP appreciated the Christian stand to cancel Christmas festivities due in Ashura’ mourning days, as “a high standard of morals.” MP Mohammed Khudhair al-Da’mi added that “all Iraqis are brothers, so the politicians should learn from the Christian gesture, as well as other religions, how to create a state of solidarity. Ashura’ month reminds the people of the massacre made in Karbala in 61 Hijri, where the grandson of Prophet Mohammed was martyred with his sons and 71 companions. Christian clerical authorities and other religions issued statements announcing the stopping of all festivities in solidarity with the Iraqi Muslims who are mourning this occasion. RM (TP) 54
