Baghdad Cinematography Festival to be attended by 24 Female Arab Directors
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Baghdad Cinematography Festival, scheduled to convene in Baghdad early next month, would be attended by 24 Female Arab Directors, the Festival Director reported on Monday. “The said initiative aims to support the Female Arab Cinematography Film Directors, through different methods, in order to encourage them to play a more extensive role in the Arab, Regional and International cinematography activity,” the Festival’s Director, Taher Alwan said in a statement, copy of which was received by Iraqi News (iraqinews.com). Alwan said that the 24 Female Arab Cinematography Directors would be granted awards in the forthcoming festivals, whilst the October Festival would form a nucleus for such activity. Noteworthy is that the number of states, scheduled to attend the Baghdad Cinematography Festival, would exceed 30 states, that would share in showing 140 films, large number of which would be shown for the first time in the Arab Homeland and others for the first time in Iraq .
