Baghdad Lord-Mayor approves 350-donum “Water-City” Project

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Office of Baghdad’s Lord-Mayor has approved on Sunday an offer by a prominent investor to build a so-called “Water City” in north Baghdad’s al-Sabiyat district according to a statement by the Lord-Mayor’s office. “The Lord-Mayor’s office shall lay down the foundation stone for the Water-City during the forthcoming few weeks,” the statement, issued by Baghdad’s Lord-Mayor Saber al-Issawi said. “The higher committee for the main design of Baghdad City has approved the details presented by one of the investors to build the Water-City project in Sabiyat district, covering 350 donums,” he added “100 donums of the project have been allocated for an apartment-building, rising to 16-floors, along with 25 donums of villas,” he said, adding that the project “would be one of the most important welfare housing projects.
