Basra airport receives 1st flight from Damascus

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Basra International Airport received on Thursday the first flight coming from Damascus after reactivating flights between the two sides, according to a statement from the Basra council. “Chairman of the Basra council, Jabbar Ameen, received today (Nov. 4) the first flight between Damascus and Basra during an official ceremony,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Increasing flights from the rest of the world to Basra reflects the security level in the city,” he added, noting that they agreed to organize two weekly flights between Basra and Damascus.
