Call for electricity minister to expose his problems in six months, Ahrar MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Head of Parliamentary Ahrar bloc   announced that his bloc demanded the minister of electricity to officially report the problems that hinder the development of electricity production. MP Baha’ al-Araji, who is also chairman of the parliamentary integrity commission, said “we had discussions with the minister of electricity on the steps to be take by the Iraqi government to develop electricity production, which was the main reason behind delaying a number of agricultural and economic projects”. On 9 October instant, Premier Nouri al-Maliki approved the nomination of Eng.Kareem Aftan for the electricity minister post, after the resignation of the previous one for “phony” contracts that totaled 1.7 billion dollars. 59
