Conference on Scientific Research Activation in Kurdistan opens
ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A conference on Scientific Research Activation in Kurdistan Region was opened in Arbil on Tuesday, with the presence of Kurdistan Region‘s Premier, Barham Saleh and hundreds of academics, specialists and professors of Iraqi and internatinal universities, planning to present 100 researches to activate scientific research. The conference was opened by Kurdistan’s Minister of High Education & Scientific Research, Dr. Dilwar Alaaddin and also attended by Turkey’s Minister of Higher Education, Nimat Jubkchu. “More than 100 academics from Australian, Canadian, American, British, Dutch, Swedish, Turkish, Iranian and Indian universities, are attending the Conference that started today (Tuesday), in addition to 600 academics from Iraqi, Kurdistan and 40 Arab universities,” Alaaddin said in his inauguration speech. He said the 3-day conference “shall listen to 100 researches in the field of scientific research,” pointing to “its significance to raise the standard of higher education students in Kurdistan Region.” Premier Saleh, in his speech in the conference, said that the Conference “is expected to contribute seriously in rising the level of high education in Kurdistan.” He noted that his government had allocated US$100 million for Higher Education in the Region, whilst hundreds of Kurdish students are preparing their Master and PhD degrees abroad.
