Cop dies of swine flu in Diala

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: A 37-year-old Iraqi policeman has died of the AH1N1 flu, otherwise known as swine flu, in Diala’s Baaquba, a local health official said on Tuesday. “The cop died in the Baaquba Public Hospital three days after he fell ill,” the official told IraqiNews.com news agency. Nineteen persons were reported to have caught swine flu in Diala, but were all discharged from hospital after receiving treatment, according to the source. Ten persons have died from the swine flu strain in Iraq, while 1,851 confirmed cases have been reported all over the country, according to the Iraqi Ministry of Health. Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
