Education minister urges Germany, Poland to support Iraqi universities

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Minister of High Education and Scientific Research, Abd Ziyab al-Ugeili, on Monday urged Poland and Germany to support the Iraqi universities and sign cooperation and partnership agreements with them, a source from the ministry said. “The minister discussed with the Polish and German ambassadors to Iraq means to boost joint scientific cooperation,” Siham al-Shugeiri, the ministry’s media director, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “He stressed the importance of the scientific and academic cooperation in setting up a long friendship between Iraqi, German and Polish people,” she explained. “The minister also discussed with the Polish diplomat possibilities of cooperation between Iraqi and Polish universities for the good of the two people,” she also said.
