Father kills 6 offspring, wife, attempts suicide in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A man killed his six sons and daughters and his wife and shot himself northwest of Mosul city on Thursday, a security source in Ninewa said. “The man opened fire on his wife and six sons and daughters, including two children and two girls, inside their home in Rubaiaa district, northwest of Mosul, killing them instantly,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The father then shot himself, causing himself serious injuries. He was rushed to a hospital under police custody,” the source added, not giving further details about the incident. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
