First Anti-Addiction Marathon concluded in Missan

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The First ‘Anti-Addiction Marathon’ has concluded its works in southern Iraq ’s Missan Province on Wednesday, with the participation of 250 young people, Missan’s Youth & Sports Director said.   “Our Directorate has organized the First Anti-Addiction Marathon in Missan Province , under the patronage of Iraq ’s Youth & Sports Minister, Jassem Mohammed Jaafar, with broad participation by our youth and officials,” Haider Sattar al-Moula told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the Marathon was attended by 250 young men and women, representing all Youth Clubs in Missan Province , along with Army, security and traffic police bodies, as well as leading officials.   “The Marathon was held under the motto: ‘No for smoking, no for addiction, no for narcotics and no for the argela (Hookah, or bubble-hubble),’ Moula said, adding: “our main goal from the Marathon was not to achieve our said motto, but we wanted, through the participation of the security bodies and officials in the Marathon, to create a state of intimacy between the youth, on one side and the security bodies and commands, on the other.”   “We have spent one month to prepare for the convening and success of the Marathon, and the security bodies, including the Army, police, traffic police, the military medication and health, have played a major role to achieve the Marathon ’s success,” he said.   In conclusion, Moula said that “the final results of the Marathon had showed the winning of the 10 th Army Division of the 1 st prize, the Police Command’s Youth for the 2 nd position and the Popular Teams Group with the 3 rd position.   SKH (RT)     254
